Hi Stacey,
I think the downloads only go to Mac, ipad, and ipod, while the DVDs only go to a main computer or tv. The DVD does have printable worksheets, but, check the website too. I will be updating all worksheets this summer (actually already in the process). We have found some mistakes in the worksheets. We are editing these out and posting the updated worksheets on the website.

Hi Wendy,

Lingua Latina is not necessary for high school credit, just recommended. There really is not as much written content in Visual Latin as there is in Lingua Latina. I will be adding much more this summer (I am done teaching in two weeks), but currently there is nothing quite like Lingua Latina for content.

As far as the videos, I think that is a good idea. Unfortunately, I do not have a quick answer for you. In a few weeks, when I have the time, I will try to load a second level video as an example of where Visual Latin is going.

Hi Elisabeth,

I doubt you are doing anything wrong. Languages take a lot of time to learn. You may need some extra reading. Have you read through the free Cornelia reader we posted? Or, have you tried to read through any of Lingua Latina? This may help. If you have specific questions, I am happy to help.

Is it possible to get a preview of lesson 4 and maybe a lesson from the Latin 2 level?
I like what I see and I am really excited about your program. However, I would really like to see a few more lessons to make sure it is what I need for next year before I order it.

Also, is it necessary to use the Lingua Latina or just optional? I would use this for a high school credit.

Thank you,

Wendy Paul

Thx!

Since it's spring she could try going outside and giving her granddaugther orders in Latin: Walk to the tree. Sit on the grass. Jump! Touch the yellow flower.

Also, they could walk around and identify things, or the grandparent could ask, "What is this?" in Latin and the child could answer, "It is a tree." The next question could be "Is the tree small?" and so on.

Sometimes, just having lessons out of doors during fine weather will break the slump.

Hi Leland,

I find that my students, especially the home school students, tend to rise to the challenge. I would certainly have the students journal in Latin. They will make many, many mistakes. Don't let this bother you. Don't let this bother them either. We crawl before we walk, and we walk before we run. Encourage them. When they run into words the don't know in Latin, have them use the website 'Whitaker's Words'.

Cornelia is a graded reader. You should be able to start it quite early. Graded readers are great vocabulary builders. The emphasis is far more on vocabulary than on grammar. I would use Henle and Visual Latin for grammar, and Cornelia for extra reading. Henle and Visual Latin both provide reading material, but, Cornelia takes it to the next level.

Hello, Joao!

Thanks for the comments. I would love to learn Portuguese. I just need more time. :-) Perhaps someday I will learn. I am impressed that you are studying Latin and Greek. I wish I had started these languages when I was much younger. They would have helped me so much with my schoolwork.
